Alfred Slote is republishing his out-of-print books with ArborvilleBooks!
First published by Lippincott/HarperCollins, Alfred Slote's distinctive books for young readers are being reissued by ArborvilleBooks of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Beginning with Jake and Hang Tough, Paul Mather, Slote's popular baseball titles such as Tony and Me, Matt Gargan's Boy, and The Trading Game are becoming available again. EBooks will be published first, with print editions to follow.
Alfred Slote, born in 1926 in Brooklyn, NY., has written over 30 books, most of them for young readers. He also taught at Williams College and the University of Michigan where he wrote and produced educational television programs. Slote and his wife, Hetsy, have three children and seven grandchildren. He still resides and writes in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he has coached baseball, played squash, and now works out on a boring treadmill.
ArborvilleBooks, LLC is comprised of three generations of Slotes: Alfred Slote, his daughter Elizabeth Slote Gilbert, an artist and book designer who lives in Brookline, MA, and his grandson Joe Slote, webmaster, currently a student at Carleton College in Northfield, MN.
